Volunteer Support Assistants
Purpose of the role
Support Assistants will work with adults with a variety of support needs (including mental health, physical disabilities, sensory impairments) to enable them to volunteer in the activity of their choice.
The Support Assistant will:

Help with filling in forms

Attending volunteer interviews

Support volunteers in their placement
-
Mentor and befriend
-
Advocate for our clients
-
Support independent travel
-
Attend regular volunteer meetings
-
Attend training to develop skills

Training Provided
Support Assistants’ will have to complete a compulsory training course. Topics covered will include:

Support Assistants’ should be willing to commit 2 hours a week for a minimum of 6 months. Hours will vary week-to-week and to be confirmed in advance.
