Help into Volunteering for Asylum Seekers and Refugee

Volunteering Bradford is working in partnership with Bradford City of Sanctuary to support asylum seekers and refugees into volunteering. Volunteering has many benefits if you are new to Bradford:

  • Meeting new people

  • Getting to know the local community

  • Practising your English

  • Using your skills to benefit others or learning

  • Reducing loneliness and isolation

We provide short, interactive “Introduction to Volunteering” sessions exploring what volunteering is, how it benefits volunteers and what to expect when you start volunteering.
If you are interested in getting involved or know someone who is then please contact us to find out about forthcoming sessions.

We can also provide variety of support (tailored to your needs), such as finding suitable volunteers roles, interpreting, helping to complete forms, accompanying you to projects and more.

The support we offer is tailored to individual need and could include but is not limited to:

  • Confidential appointment space

  • We can find the perfect opportunity for you

  • We can contact the organisation on your behalf

  • Provide interpreter/translation support

  • We can help complete application forms

  • We can take you to visit organisations

  • We can arrange ‘taster’ sessions

  • We can provide ongoing support whilst you are volunteering with a trained support assistant.
