LINK UP LETTERS
Everyone loves to receive personal letters! Could you support an isolated person by something as simple as writing them a letter? There are 100s of people in care homes and supported living accommodation across the Bradford District who have had little contact with people for many months. A friendly, cheerful letter from you could make a big difference to them. So, if you can spare a few minutes to put pen to paper once or twice a month, we would love to hear from you. If you have never written a letter before or you’re a bit out of practice, don’t let that put you off because we can provide some simple guidelines to get you started.
What are they looking for?
We want to recruit a team of volunteers to write one or two cheerful and chatty letters every fortnight/month to a care home resident or isolated person. Letters can be hand-written (clearly) and posted or sent electronically via email (double spaced).
Practical Considerations
-
Letter writers will be matched with a care home resident / isolated individual and told about some of the interests of the recipient.
-
All letters will be sent via Bradford Volunteer Centre to comply with data protection legislation.
